RETREAT HOUSE
In this final project, we are to further develop our project 2a into a retreat house at Cape Rachado, Port Dickson. A retreat house denotes ‘A place affording peace, quiet, privacy and security' where its occupant would reside for a short period of time. This retreat house must function as habitable architectural spaces to enable the activity associated with living, dining, showering, cooking, storage and such within the built up space of 150 m2. The relationship between our design and the context is also important in making the retreat unique to its landscape and activity.
This project extends the understanding of design concept and process. It introduces the notion of architectural space making through the design of a user specific architectural scheme. This project explores the relationship between architectural tectonics, function and space in architecture.

spatial planning of mock up models
We all have been given a specific user with a personality and i got an adventurous hiker. A concept has been applied in my retreat house design which is '' IN TOUCH WITH NATURE ''. I have chosen this particular concept is because of the hiker's profile. Basically a hiker will contact with nature or natural elements when they hike. To relate back , I chose this concept is to let the user to get in a closer relation with nature.

Throughout this final project, I am able to interpret and analyse a simple site context and the given client's character and daily needs in relation to the design of the retreat house. In order to produce a good design , I've realised that the importance of balancing between user's requirements and the site context.Under the guidance of tutor, it made me understood that even a simple design of a house , we cannot skip any minor detail throughout the design process as it may affect the quality of product.
