PROJECT  1

THEMATIC STUDY - minimalism

This project is to study and deconstruct a theme of our choice.Choose a theme that you are passionate about - deconstruct this via architectural precepts.
eg.  light + shadow, elements + materiality, spatial form & scale, analogies + process etc

We will then proceed to source the necessary drawings and information to aid our analysis, whilst
conducting an in-depth research on the theme of our analysis alone. This is to allow us to have a broad
understanding of the theme that we are undertaking.

PROJECT  2

BUILDING CASE STUDY and ANALYTICAL DIAGRAMS - seashore library

This project is to study a building of our choice in depth.

Part A - chosen building –analyze the philosophical & spatial precepts using diagramming + narrative

Extract the original design philosophy basis and present the case study in a series of diagrams. Use diagramming both an analytical tool, as well as a graphical one to present our analysis.

Part B– Layer our thematic precepts as an explorative and conceptual tool – use diagraming, collage, any
media and explore analogies and process.

FINAL OUTCOME

PROJECT  3

MODELING the INTERPRETATION - recapture the moment

Chose varied media as an explorative and conceptual modeling tool – then use diagraming, collage,
method + process
to show our thought progression and reintepretation of the building.

Based on the analysis presented in Project 1& 2, we are to produce an architectural model which
conveys our interpretation of the building
in a creative and communicative manner

This model should not be an exact scaled replica of the building, rather it should be conceptual and an
interpretation of the building communicating key ideas derived from the analysis.
