CONSTRUCTION DETAIL AND SPECIFICATION
This project is a continuation of the first project - an integrated project where it involves construction detailing solution for Project 2b in Architecture Studio 2. This project is designed to allow the demonstration of knowledge and understanding of construction and application from prior project. Emphasis in producing related manual construction drawing for STEEL and/or TIMBER detail and specification.
We are required to identify and propose 3 details for selected elements or part of the buidling apart from providing the necessary plans, elevations and section.
Architectural detailing : ROOF , SUPERSTRUCTURE and JOINT/CONNECTION
With the guidance of tutor, I am able to select proper structural elements for my retreat house design and also select the suitable materials for construction due to the climate of our country. Most of my construction materials are timber and glazing. Understanding the methods of construction and types of construction are also critical as they will affect the whole stability of the house. Overall, I've learnt knowledge of construction, materials and structural theory in a small scale design project.
